Haggis Ranger here! My first Common Garden Haggis has officially been spotted and caught. Hopefully that means my beginner training is complete and I’m ready to track down some of Scotland’s harder-to-find wild haggis!
Register Your Haggis Animal
Where in the world are Scotland’s wild haggis? Help the Haggis Wildlife Foundation find out by registering your haggis animal. Every record helps us keep count of the haggis reported to us and discover how far they have travelled.
This register is for all haggis species. From Scotland’s hills and forests to places far beyond its shores, we want to build a picture of where haggis animals are being recorded. Wherever yours has ended up, you can help us add another location to the story.
Why register your haggis animal?
There is still much to learn about the whereabouts of wild haggis. Some remain close to their Scottish roots, while others find their way to new surroundings across the world. Your registration helps us follow that spread and keep a record of the different species people have found.
By bringing these records together, we can see how many haggis have been registered, where they have been reported and which species appear in different locations. As more people take part, the register becomes a more useful record for the Foundation and fellow haggis spotters.
How to register your haggis
Complete the form on this page with the details requested. Check that names, species and location information are correct wherever those fields appear. If you have a haggis number, keep it handy when completing your registration.
Please register each haggis animal once. This helps us avoid counting the same individual more than once and keeps the total useful. If you have several different haggis, each can have its own record.
Help us follow wild haggis around the world
You do not need to live in Scotland to take part. Records from other countries help us understand where Scottish haggis animals are turning up and how widely they have travelled.
The register will continue to grow as more haggis species become available and more people submit their records. It brings them together in one place, while recognising the different species that make up the wider world of wild haggis.
Our total shows the haggis registered with us, rather than a complete count of every haggis in the wild. Each new record helps fill another gap.
